Kids Capers CLAYFIELD Centre Philosophy
Centre Philosophy
“We would like to recognise the traditional landowners, Australia’s First Nations People of the Meanjin Region, on whose land we play and learn on today”
Here at Kids Capers Childcare Clayfield, we believe our team of Educators and Teachers provide your child with a home away from home. When you join us, you are joining the Kids Capers Family and Community.
Our Children
We believe the rights of the children are paramount, thus children’s voices are included in everyday practices to support the children’s sense of agency and belonging. We encourage children’s independence and resilience, by providing them with the tools to thrive when faced with day-to-day challenges. Children are guided to build kind, positive relationships that they can continue even after they move onto primary school.
We value all children as successful, competent, capable learners, therefore we provide a play-based curriculum, where children feel supported to make choices regarding their own play and learning, encouraging critical thinking to organise and make sense of their world. Children love to play, and play promotes various dispositions for learning such as confidence, creativity, and imagination.
Our Families
We believe families are children’s first teachers, this is why we value collaborative partnerships between our educators, families, children, and community. This enables us to create a space that promotes relationships that are respectful, reciprocal, equitable and inclusive. We celebrate the diversity of all families and show great respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture.
Our Educators
Our diverse team of Educators are welcoming, passionate and committed to developing nurturing, trusting and communicative relationships with our children and families. We embed love, laughter and learning in our everyday practices, providing a fun, play-based, educational curriculum for children to explore and experience life’s wonders. Our Educators provide children with a safe learning environment where they are able to watch children grow and flourish.
Our Community
We show dedication to support and build relationships with the community by being active participants, and through maintaining collaborative, reciprocal relationships. Quality environments that promote and support children’s learning and development is important to our community, thus the discovery of natural environments that are unique, inclusive, safe and inviting are evident in our centre. We strive to give the children a feeling of connectiveness to their world and community by teaching them to nurture and care for our animals, providing “my swimming lessons” and inviting children into the wider community on excursions. We endeavor to embed sustainable practices that work towards a more holistic approach, that foster’s children’s respect for the world around them.
Our Leadership
We believe an effective leadership team is one that learns from, challenges one another, and grows together. Through our distributed leadership model, we work collaboratively with educators and families to ensure we are providing the best outcomes for all children. Our leadership team are passionate to share knowledge with Educators and families, to make a difference in each child’s life.
