Miss Brodie is the Company Educational Leader. Miss Brodie’s career in Early Childhood began in 2013 and holds a Diploma of Children’s Services. Miss Brodie has been apart of the Kids Capers family since 2014.

What does Miss Brodie love most about working for Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Brodie feels that Kids Capers Childcare is her home away from home. Leadership opportunities for personal and career development are always available. Miss Brodie feels very supported within the company.

What is Miss Brodie passionate about in the Early Years?

Miss Brodie is passionate about the first five years as these are the foundation for the rest of the child’s life. Miss Brodie aims to create a warm, safe and nurturing environment for every child to feel valued and appreciated to ensure they create a sense of belonging, being and becoming.

What made Miss Brodie apply for the Educational Leader Role?

Miss Brodie applied for the company Educational Leader role as an educational leader is an important part of a team and one that she has always admired. Being able to support a team of educators to create best outcomes for children is Miss Brodies biggest goal and passion. As a leader, Miss Brodie’s aim is to support, motivate and guide educators to provide this through collaborative partnerships, mentoring opportunities, and challenging educators pedagogy. Miss Brodie aims to lead the development and implementation of the educational program, assessment, and planning cycle with enthusiasm.

What does Miss Brodie like doing outside of Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Brodie loves to spend time with her family, friends, and pet animals.

Clayfield Educational Leader

Shana Blow

Miss Shana is the Educational Leader at our Clayfield Centre. Miss Shana’s career in Early Childhood began in 2001 and holds a Diploma in Children’s Services. Miss Shana has been apart of the Kids Capers family since 2008.

What does Miss Shana love most about working for Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Shana loves watching the children learn and grow but also loves the Kids Capers Community as it feels like a family and not just a workplace.

Miss Shana is passionate about providing the best outcomes and care for the children and their families. 

What made Miss Shana apply for the Educational Role?

Miss Shana loves sharing her knowledge of her culture with the children, families, and team.

What does Miss Shana like doing outside of Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Shana loves spending time with their three children and her mob as Miss Shana is a proud Mununjali-Kombumberri woman, going to the beach, playing in the park, and teaming her children about their culture and watching her children play sports.

Mango Hill Educational Leader

Rachel Budulcica

Miss Rach holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and has been working in childcare for almost 10 years, spending the last three of those being at Kids Capers Mango Hill. She progressed into the Educational leader role at the beginning of the year and is excited to work with such a great team. Her goal is to be approachable and to help all staff reach their full potential, whether it be with programming expectations or relationships with children and families.

 Miss Rach loves entertaining children through all sorts of activities, but will most often be found singing, dancing or reading stories.

 During her time at home, Miss Rach enjoys going on adventures with her husband, playing with her dogs, or perfecting her makeup skills so she can impress the children with her crazy and colourful eye looks.

Northgate Educational Leader

Jacinta Petrusma

Miss Jacinta is the Educational Leader at our Northgate Centre. Miss Jacinta’s career in Early Childhood began in 2021 and holds a Diploma of Children’s Services.

What does Miss Jacinta love most about working for Kids Capers Childcare?

I love working with Kids Capers Childcare – they are my family. I love the ethos that we all look out for each other, no matter what. They form part of an amazing support system for me, our little people, our families, and fellow staff members.

What is Miss Jacinta passionate about in the Early Years?

I primarily have a holistic focus on Early Childhood Education – I believe that there is an intrinsic link between the mind, emotional health and and physical body for all of the children in my care. My ethos behind Early Childhood Education and Care centres on that it should be an extension of family and family values, as well as having strong links between cultural values and being culturally inclusive. Every child should be treated as if they were your own. I promote a strong play-based learning program, interlinked with the Early Years Learning Framework of Belonging, Being and Becoming. I focus on imagination and creation, through open-ended, loose parts play as well as through the creative arts – I am an artist myself.

What made Miss Jacinta apply for the Educational Role?

I applied for the position of Educational Leader as I have a passion for mentoring and teaching – not only our little people, but our staff too. I want to play an integral part in ensuring that our little people receive the best of care and educational opportunities as possible and this starts with ensuring our staff understand what is required and are mentored appropriately. Nothing makes me happier than when I am teaching and helping my fellow staff!

 What does Miss Jacinta like doing outside of Kids Capers Childcare?

I enjoy spending time with my three children, ages 11, 13 and 15. I am a very creative person, coming from a fine arts background, and love doing anything creative – you can see some of my paintings around the centre. I am also a crazy cat lady and have five cats that bring me a lot of joy.

Mechelle Campbell

Miss Mechelle is the Educational Leader at our Samford Centre. Miss Mechelle’s career in Early Childhood began in 2021 and holds Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Miss Mechelle has been apart of the Kids Capers family since 2021.

What does Miss Mechelle love most about working for Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Mechelle loves the children, the families and colleagues that she considers friends at Kids Capers, it is just one big family.

What is Miss Mechelle passionate about in the Early Years?

Miss Mechelle is passionate about learning. Whether it be learning letters, numbers, or words or even if it’s learning social emotional techniques. Miss Mechelle loves it when the children feel accomplished and confident.

What made Miss Mechelle apply for the Educational Role?

Miss Mechelle was asked if she would like to be considered for the Educational Leader role by her Centre Manager. Miss Mechelle applied for the position as she wanted to support her growing team and build a great community. Miss Mechelle was ready for more growth as she had finished her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at the end of 2022.

Miss Mechelle enjoys spending time at home with her family and three dogs.

Danielle Mitchell

Miss Danielle is the Educational Leader at our Wamuran Centre. Miss Danielle’s career in Early Childhood began in 2013 and holds a Diploma of Children’s Services. Miss Danielle has been apart of the Kids Capers family since 2013.

What does Miss Danielle love most about working for Kids Capers Childcare?

Miss Danielle recalls when she began with Kids Capers, she started as a float, then assistant educator, educator in charge, Educational Leader to Community Engagement Officer. Kids Capers provides so many different avenues to ensure all their educators are reaching their potential and passion.

What is Miss Danielle passionate about in the Early Years?

Miss Danielle is most passionate path in the Early Childhood Sector is always, first and foremost, ensuring children feel a sense of safety, security and belonging while in her care. Miss Danielle’s second, is providing children with a wider sense of belonging through their community. Miss Danielle is a big advocate for “it takes a village”.

What made Miss Danielle apply for the Educational Leader Role?

Being an Educational Leader provides Miss Danielle with the opportunity to guide and mentor all educators to be the best they can be for all the children in their care. Miss Danielle enjoys being able to provide a safe space for all to come to her for support and knowledge.

What does Miss Danielle like doing outside of Kids Capers Childcare?

Outside of work, Miss Danielle is a busy mother of 2. She enjoys taking them on life experiences to different places and really encouraging them to be grateful for the smaller things in life. Miss Danielle is surrounded by a very supportive group of family and friends and enjoys spending much of her time with them. Miss Danielle also doesn’t see herself go very far without her dog by her side.
