Vision for Reconciliation
Be Brave. Make a change.
We believe in acknowledging and teaching, through play, the true histories of Australia to promote a sense of understanding, connection and respect for Australia’s First Nations, and for the Land which we care for and learn and play. We will ensure we recognise and respect the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This is part of our shared history to work towards a connected and respectful society.
As an organisation, we are committed to raising awareness about reconciliation, with the goal of encouraging all people in the broader community to embrace reconciliation and work towards reparation and healing for the Land’s First Peoples. We will demonstrate this through: gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and learning; respectfully reflecting that knowledge at all levels of our service; improving access to our service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and developing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a sense security of belonging for all in our community.
At Kids Capers Childcare, we would like to show our respect and acknowledge the Traditional Caretakers of the Land on which our little feet meet, work and play.
We would like to pay our respects and extend this respect to Elders both past, present and emerging as well as all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
